We’re an 11 bedded 24-hour nursed care service providing rehabilitative support for individuals aged 18 and over with enduring mental health problems.
How we help
We offer a secure but relaxed environment which is non-clinical and homely.
We work with people on a one to one basis, using a recovery based model and individual support planning to empower them to develop opportunities, gain skills and experience, and make positive choices in their lives. Ultimately, we help them move on to more independent living.
Our team of registered mental health nurses (RMNs) and assistant support workers take a multi-disciplinary approach to each person’s needs and help them access additional services as required. We encourage all residents to get involved with in the service at Windsor Road and to develop links with the local community.
Who we can help
We’re commissioned by Blackpool and North Lancashire clinical commissioning groups and can help adults over the age of 18 from these areas.
We accept referrals from community mental health trusts, hospitals or secure services but cannot take individuals who are compulsory detained under the Mental Health Act or who are in acute crisis who require emergency or respite admission.
Following we carry out a comprehensive assessment and make a decision with the individual and their care co-ordinator about whether a placement at Windsor Road is right for them.
At the heart of everything we do lies:
- Hope: the belief that recovery is possible for every individual
- Respect: valuing differences and all contributions
- Enabling: giving people encouragement and support to achieve their goals
- Inclusion: the belief that everyone has a right to participate fully in society.
Our CQC rating
Windsor Road is a registered care home so is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator for health and adult social care in England. In the latest inspection the CQC found that the care home requires improvement. This means the service is not meeting all the standards required and we have to make improvements.
Obviously, this is very disappointing for us and we’re sorry that Windsor Road has fallen far short of the standards we expect all of our services to provide. We’ve already resolved many of the key issues identified by the CQC. We’ve an improvement plan in place to return the service to the high levels of compliance and satisfaction achieved over the many years we’ve been supporting individuals as quickly as possible.
